Flannel Board Friday: Clean and Dirty Pigs

Another flannel board for you this Friday!

Double sided pigs!

I made the pigs using pink felt and a diecut machine. Glue on some googly eyes to both sides, and using a brown marker, draw mud splotches on one side. Pretty easy, but really fun to use. (This is an old set, you can kinda see the splotches on the "clean" side now. I should make a new set!)

Here are some rhymes to use:

Place the pigs on the flannel board one at a time, muddy side out.

1 little 2 little 3 little piggies
4 little 5 little 6 little piggies
7 little 8 little 9 little piggies
10 piggies playing in the mud!

For the next verse, turn them over one by one, so they see the clean side.

1 little 2 little 3 little piggies
4 little 5 little 6 little piggies
7 little 8 little 9 little piggies
10 piggies took a bath!

Here's one from Mel's Desk that I recently used in storytime:

to the tune of "5 Green and Speckled Frogs"

Five pigs so squeaky clean
Cleanest you’ve ever seen
Wanted to go outside and play
Oink! Oink!
One jumped into the mud
Landed with a big thud
Then there were four clean squeaky pigs.

Round up today is over at What Happens in Storytime...
