Where is Thumbkin?

We All Went On Safari: A Counting Journey Through Tanzania by Laurie Krebs, illustrated by Julia Cairns

Hickory Dickory Dock

One elephant went out to play
Upon a spider’s web one day
He had such enormous fun
He called another elephant to come
HEY, ELEPHANT!
Two elephants went out to play...

"Flannel" Board:

So, I had a bunch of paper diecuts of people left-over from something else. I drew a (poor) picture of a bed on the marker board side of the board and taped 10 diecuts on, taking one off as they fell off the bed.

10 in the bed and the little one said, roll over, roll over
So they all rolled over and one fell out
And bumped his head and began to shout
9 in the bed and the little one said, roll over, roll over...

Flannel Board:

So this one is an actual flannel board. I'll do a Flannel Board Friday post on it tomorrow.

to the tune of "Five Green and Speckled Frogs"

Five pigs so squeaky clean
Cleanest you’ve ever seen
Wanted to go outside and play
Oink! Oink!
One jumped into the mud
Landed with a big thud
Then there were four clean squeaky pigs.

Dog's Colorful Day: A Messy Story About Colors and Counting by Emma Dodd

to the tune of "If You're Happy and You Know It"

If you're sleepy and you know it, great big yawn
If you're sleepy and you know it, say good night...
If you're sleepy and you know it, start to snore...
If you're sleepy and you know it, do all three...

Stars shining number, number 1, number 2, number 3
Good night, say good night

Stars shining number, number 4, number 5, number 6
Good night, say good night

Stars shining number, number 7, number 8, number 9
Good night, say good night
It's time to sleep, and say good night.
